Only one week left until Christmas...
Are you ready??
I most certainly am not.
But...things are progressing along quite nicely around here and surprisingly I have not yet had my usual "one week to go" meltdown. A first for yours truly.
I am cooool as a cucumber.
The calm before the storm.
We'll see how long this lasts.

Since it is the week before Christmas, you know what that means! It's time for Christmas craft week! I have lots of great ideas this year and Little Miss is always super excited to come home from school and see what that day's craft is.
I'm really not sure which one of us enjoys craft week more.
Our first craft this year was a pretty easy one, even though it looked a little tricky at first. I had seen pictures of some very pretty wreaths around instagrammy and Pinterest lately and I thought that it would be fun to give it a try.
I bought the wreath forms from Michael's and some new holiday fabric from our local fabric store (75% off... yay!) but the rest of the supplies we already had stashed around the craft room so this one took minimal planning on my part (me likey).
The idea was just to wrap the wreaths with different holiday fabrics, burlap, yarn, twine and whatever else we could find. Easy-peasy.
Little Miss set to work picking out her fabrics and wrapping them on her wreath form. I loved seeing all of her creative fabric and yarn choices! Melts her Mama's heart to see her passion for all things creative.
Of course I bought myself a wreath form as well and between cutting fabrics and helping Little Miss when she asked, started putting my own wreath together. I ended up going back to the craft room after Little Miss went to bed and stayed up well into the night trying to finish mine.
I am paying for that crafty decision today I might add.
I added a string of jingle bells to mine, I just strung them on baker's twine and knotted them in place.
Little Miss and I each decided to spell out a word we thought said 'Christmas' to us.
I chose JOY.
A little close-up of some of the itty-bitty details...
Little Miss chose PEACE as her word. I love it.
(the glittery chipboard letters are from Walmart. I bought a whole bunch of them forever ago and they are always handy to have around!)
Little Miss's finished wreath... Isn't it beautiful?
She worked so hard and it turned out great!
... and my (finally) finished one. A little wonky, just the way I like it. : )
This idea would be really easy to adapt for any holiday or season too. Hmmm...

So there you have it...
Our first craft from Christmas craft week!
I will be posting each of our new crafts all week so be sure come back and check them out!!
Happy Tuesday!
